Vegetable tanned leather ages. It darkens, softens, gets a patina. That's not a problem, that's the material doing its thing.
Wipe with a damp cloth if dirty. Condition once or twice a year with leather balm or beeswax. Keep away from heat and prolonged sun. Scratches: rub with your finger. Usually enough.
